JCMKEC Learning Garden Programme

1. Objective

a. To enhance the school’s visibility and promote the academic and cultural image of our school by organising various learning activities, so that teachers, parents and primary school pupils from Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai or other districts in Hong Kong will have a better understanding of our school;

b. To stay connected and maintain communication with parents of primary school pupils; and

c. To let our students be a little instructor utilizing what they have learnt and demonstrating their talent on a public platform, and to have development on various aspects through service learning, at the same time.

2. Implementation

Primary school pupils or their parents will be recruited to our school for class experience. The themes of class will be based on the interests of participants or the strengths of our students and the classes will be conducted by our students as the little instructors. 

3. Fun Events

This year’s workshops of JCMKEC Learning Garden include: Paper Tearing Class, Dough Figurine Class, Digital Painting and Illustration Class and Ecological Photography Class. Special thanks to the parents and pupils in the district for participating in the workshops and photography competition so that the ecological beauty of Yuen Long’s and Tin Shui Wai’s historical and cultural buildings can be widely promoted. Besides, the opportunity for our students to work with different people has also been boosted, at the same time. This is beneficial to their communication skills and multiple-talent development. All the awards of the competition have been presented after the event and congratulations to all the award-winning students.
